Segura Viudas Brut Vintage merges tradition with innovation. It was created with the aim of offering a complex vintage Cava, which is at the same time fresh and versatile. The design of the bottle is inspired by our brand’s iconic Reserva Heredad Cava, using eco-friendly paper crafted from grape lees, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.

vinification
The grapes are sourced from sites located in many parts of the region, between the Garraf Massif and the Montserrat mountain range as far as the point where they meet the Mediterranean. During the harvest, the best grapes from local varieties were selected, along with a part of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir which provides elegance and complexity. In the winemaking process the grapes are pressed very gently, using only the first 50% of the available juice, known as the floral must, as it is the most aromatic and delicate. The first fermentation of each variety is done separately in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature (14 – 16ºC) to achieve maximum varietal identity. The dosage for Segura Viudas Brut Vintage is 9 grams of sugar per liter to further the broadest possible food matching options for this particularly elegant Cava. The base wine was bottled in May 2023. A minimum of 9 months ageing in bottle, in conditions of total darkness and stillness, 20 meters below ground, and at a constant and natural temperature of between 14 and 16ºC.

The aromas on the nose are fresh, ranging from white fruit such as pear and apple, to tropical fruit like pineapple and plum.

Pairs with exotic flavors such as Thai Tom Yum soup, Peruvian sea-bass ceviche, Mexican quesadillas or Labneh and Tahini served with pita bread. Also, with traditional ham and cheese French omelet, buttered grilled corn on the cob, chicken pie, or wild mushroom risotto and even dessert like tarte Tatin or crema catalana.
