appellation
Champagne
grape
A vintage champagne consisting of a blend of 65% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir
vinification
Traditional vinification and maturation occurs in small 228-liter oak casks, with self-imposed limits on production levels. To ensure that it maintains its original character, Alfred Gratien makes a conscious decision not to use malolactic fermentation in the production of its champagne. The aroma of the grapes and the land from which they came are thus preserved, and the wine retains its freshness, even as it ages.
aging
Aging occurs in bottle for twenty years.

The nose is graceful, complex and distinguished, marked by pear and praline, shifting toward autumnal notes. This combination is enhanced by a subtle base of roasted chestnut.
